Guest lectures in Beograd by members of OBI 2011-05-19

Professors Joseph Sopko, voice specialist from Basel and Aarau and Mihael Podvinec form Aarau, held lectures at a one-day symposim dedicated to the „Care of the professional voice“. J. Sopko presented „The picture of the human voice in the stroboscopical examination“, showing, amongst others, rare videos of laryngeal function in players of wind instruments, yodelers and professional singers.
M. Podvinec spoke on new methods of early diagnosis of laryngeal cancer, a study performed in his Department by Lecturer Dr. Marcel Kraft. The Symposium, honoring the International Voice Day, was organised by the Serbian ORL Society and chaired by its President, Professor Vojko Đukić. Very interesting lectures were presented by prominent voice specialists and endoscopic surgeons of the country. The topics mainly concerned new diagnostic tools and operative techniques in the therapy of disorders in professional voice users and recommendations in the care of the professional voice.
